What is BuckeyeThon's Dance Marathon?

BuckeyeThon’s Dance Marathon is an annual celebration of the continued fundraising that The Ohio State University has done for the year in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. OSU’s Dance Marathon is the largest dance marathon in the country and the largest student philanthropy in the state of Ohio. BuckeyeThon raised $560,032.34 in 2024 and over the past 22 years, over $14.3 million in total!

When and where is the Dance Marathon?

This year’s Dance Marathon will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in The Ohio State University’s Ohio Union!

Fundraising Teams and Color Teams

When you register online, you have the option to join a team, which is usually affiliated with a residence hall, Greek chapter, student organization, etc. Besides fundraising together, Fundraising Teams often have meetings, participate in activities together, and make shirts or outfits for the big day. The Dance Marathon is a great way to strengthen the relationships in your club or social group!

Team Members will also be on one of eight Color Teams for activities at our events. Color Teams are different from Fundraising Teams, but all members of a Fundraising Team will be on the same Color Team. Each Color Team will consist of many Fundraising Teams and will be paired with one or more BuckeyeThon Kids.
